Given the prominence of Dendreon-related news across the oncology, biotech industry, and financial communities, I would be remiss not to include a video on Provenge.  Playing it safe, I’ve included a video outlining the therapy’s mechanism of action.

6. What if we could simply “print” new organs for use in clinical trials? (10:45) Gabor Forgacs from Organovo tells us about a radical new approach to tissue engineering at TedMed 2011.
7. The WAVE Bioreactor™ system (6:26) from GE Healthcare is a functionally closed system and can be used for various cell culture applications. The video illustrates the workflow for a perfusion culture working with the WAVE Bioreactor 2/10 system.
8. While I typically focus almost exclusively on what is happing in industry, I’m excited about what is happing in stem cell transplantation in multiple sclerosis. Here’s a video from Case Western Reserve University looking at autologous MSC transplantation for multiple sclerosis (2:40).
